Countries Around the World--Romania
Type of Product:
Welcome to Romania! In this program, students begin their journey in the capital city of Bucharest. While there, students will observe Martisor, a holiday celebrating the arrival of spring, in addition to visiting the Dambovita River and the Triumphal Arch. Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Romania, including how the 15th-century prince, Vlad Tepes, served as the inspiration for the character of Dracula in the novel by Bram Stoker. After a blessing from an Orthodox Christian priest, students will travel to the countryside to see the historic region of Transylvania's most famous sites: the quaint village of Brasov, the Carpathian Mountains and Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle! A teacher's guide for the series is included. 13 min. CC.
